A study suggests that whilst some anti-psychotic prescriptions for people with dementia are appropriate, it is thought that up to two-thirds of such are not. Having seen the effects of anti-psychotics on my own father, I cannot urge strongly enough that people seek alternatives first before they resort to these kinds of medications for their loved ones...

Both my sister and myself, the daughters of a person who had early onset dementia, were diagnosed with abnormally low testosterone levels for our ages (at age 28 I apparently had the testosterone levels of an 80year old woman!). So I have often wondered if there might be some link to dementia onset and testosterone levels...
